      I wanted to leave in secret for more exciting parts of the dear readers of the novel, so I will not write a spoiler, so here I did not publish the detailed content. The veil is only placed in the Prolog to present the work, although equivalent to the full length book is published by – our request – the former Hungarian teacher Varga Tibor made. The Epilogue by the author and the Table of contents are also the same, in connection with the second edition of what I wrote at the end of the novel.

PROLOG

      The reader who takes this book into her/his hands is in store for some surprises. This is a book that will provide the reader with eventful entertainment. The reader’s imagination will be expanded by dimensions and transported so far away, that the sensation of landing back into reality at the end of given chapters will come as a shock.

You have in your hands the first book by this pair of authors, who are representatives of the modern stream of classic science fiction in Hungary. The story takes place in the not-too-distant future, on an enormous space station in orbit above Jupiter. Various businesspersons, political figures, members of the expert elite, artists and journalists have assembled in this rotating hotel in the sky to take part in the 16th Jupiter Conference. A few new guests arrive when it is noticed that a food-transport unit that has been damaged by an asteroid is hurtling toward them. The robotic freighter does not respond to radio commands and irremediably crashes into the space station, leaving a deep gap in its shell and ruining the piloting system lines. Many are injured, and a handful die. The equipment goes awry, the orbit-adjustment engines turn on, and all those on board begin an accelerating, unstoppable descent toward certain death. They know there is nothing they can do. The Procyon and its approximately one thousand passengers will crash into the planet. The merciless atmospheric pressure of Jupiter will crush the cosmic conference centre.

Five highly trained astronauts – the commander, the deputy commander, the navigator, the science officer and the ship’s doctor – tackle the problem. They are responsible for the survival and command of the giant complex. They would save what they can, but how? Their fate appears hopeless in this „hellish cylinder”. The feeling of futility is at its zenith as they plunge toward the threateningly close surface when the faint cloud of escape flashes in front of them…

The precise description of detail, the feeding of psychological effect and life-like dialogue all contribute to color the writing. The picturesque introductions of the objects of the universe take a hold of the reader’s sense of fantasy.

This novel draws a new border in the narrowing bound between reality and fiction. The conviction of the authors radiates throughout: that humanity will survive various catastrophes, while the spirit of humanity will live on and on – in our descendants.

EPILOGUE BY THE AUTHOR

       He lived fifty-one years. He was my best friend.

      Even 11 years of age are met when we moved into our district. Making the elementary school years spent together, stereo radio play just for fun, Hungarian and foreign poems, poems after reading crosstalk drama, opera and classical music collection – one could go on all day, it all fits in our common pursuit. Then came the scientific and astronomical books and science fiction – such films as novel format. And then, after a nightmare night, I asked him the question: I do not write them ...?

      The spine envisioned as a gift from heaven was extended, delicately worked out the basis for the birth of the Falling into infinity. In the Preface to write was a literature teacher, my Tibor Varga asked for. Joco it worked together very effectively, but it was when we wrote separately to a small part. Surprising ideas for embellishing twisting of words, still alive conjured a dry story.

      The first edition of 1998 went very smoothly. The editorial boss the next day said that it could not do the manuscript, so hurry on, talk about the rest. Unfortunately, this second edition did not live to see. He does not drink, did not smoke, but completely collapsed in the organization. In April 2015 his mother died, and his days, two weeks after he went directly before printing.

      I would like to thank living in Canada's cousin, Erika. He was the only relative who contributed to the book's appearance. And to my partner, Szilvia I am very grateful that – in my neighborhood alone – believed the novel's success.

      Megyes Joseph's death left a great void in me. Not only a good friend but also an exceptionally gifted writer of fantasy I lost companion.
